Released by 20th Century Fox in the US on the 3rd of August, moviegoers got to enjoy the mysteriously powerful teens send to a detainment camp as they’re seen as a treat by the government. Ruby only 16 years old at the time escapes and joins others on the run. The teens combine their powers to fight against those on their tracks.
The Darkest Minds, Colour Code Those Needed to be Killed on Sight
IAAN is a mysterious pandemic that wiped out 90% of the nation’s children six years ago, the superpowers seen as a disease changes those who survived. Some ore telekinetic, other just really smart while some can manipulate electrical currents. Survivors with the superpower-disease are sorted by colour. The colour-coded children categories include least dangerous marked by green and blue, those uncontrollable are marked in red and orange and are to be killed on sight.
Should a kid fall into the green category his/her eyes turn green as soon as he/she is thinking of something smart, telekinetic children have the power to make all kinds of thing float in the air and their eyes then turn blue. The colour coding simplifies things and Ruby with orange eyes are marked since she has the ability to control the minds of others. Although she has managed to pass as a code green to qualify for the Green concentration camp.
Did Parents Just Hand Over Their Surviving Kids to Government in The Darkest Minds?
The outbreak and the reaction of the public to the IAAN pandemic is not part of the film, and when it comes to reasoning, it seems the government did not have a hard job capturing the surviving youngsters. One who does put up a fight is the US president who claims his son is cured. A kind doctor first freed Ruby, the doctor, Cate, played by Mandy Moore, turns out to be part of The Children’s League, which she describes as a safe-haven. This is a fact doubted by Ruby who decides to join three run-aways, which includes an electricity harnesser and a smart one.
The four dodge their tracers, and bounty hunters are out to clean up, for a while the film and those enjoying it, forget about the fact that Ruby can control other’s minds, while she also wiped out her own memories, accidentally. The only two ‘Oranges” get romantically involved, while the story offers a captivating view of adults that are fearful of their offspring and wanted them imprisoned or killed.

Multiple resistance rise, leadership comes into question, and Ruby must decide, remain truthful to those who have helped her or joining a team where her superpowers can make a difference. The Darkest Mind film conveys a lot to the audience, it is smart, and there is no doubt that it attracted millions of followers.
